Like Trundle, free matchup.

GarenGaren, like Trundle, his gameplan is to just run at you to do his combo and kill you. If you just don't let him get on top of you, then he can never threaten.

As long as you don't misposition or get caught from FoG, it's a free lane.

  • SwiftyBoots of Swiftness Rush.

  • Standard PTAPress the Attack.

  • FlashFlash / TPTP.

  • DBladeDoran's Blade.

  • Start EKayle E level 1 and get priority to shove cannon wave.

Depending on what rune OrnnOrnn takes, you'll play the levels 1-3 differently.

1. GraspGrasp of the Undying | Take EKayle E level 1 and obtain priority. You can beat him, but only if you don't let him constantly proc his Grasp. EKayle E him in lane to begin, and start stacking passive. Maintain spacing so that he doesn't proc his Grasp until you have wave priority and you can start pressuring him. Get your cannon shove and base for CullCull.

2. AerySummon Aery | Some Ornns will go this cheesy AerySummon Aery build against ranged users and then rush Bramble VestBramble Vest so each time the ranged autos, it procs Aery. It's a super cheesy setup where they're planning on you damaging yourself into lethal range and they can sustain. Rush GunbladeHextech Gunblade into this setup so you completely negate his gameplan. Same thing and just get early priority against him level 1.

  • DBladeDoran's Blade if he has GraspGrasp of the Undying.

  • DBladeDoran's Blade or DShieldDoran's Shield for AerySummon Aery (I recommend DShield, since more consistent against Aery Ornn, but DBlade is more kill pressure).

  • Standard PTA. FlashFlash / TPTP.

  • Once more experienced, swap out to First StrikeFirst Strike, much better against Ornn.

Easy matchup where you can both pressure and outscale SingedSinged.

Get priority level 1 to shove cannon wave and recall for CullCull. Afterwards, farm until 1k to rush SwiftyBoots of Swiftness boots. When you have SwiftyBoots of Swiftness boots, he can never get on top of you without burning both GhostGhost and FlashFlash.

Warning: If you're looking to poke him under his turret, be careful when standing near his outer turret range as that's where he wants to root you and flip into his turret when your wave is about to be cleared.

  • TPTP / FlashFlash or GhostGhost / FlashFlash. I personally prefer TP/Flash because I like being able to TP back for tempo.

  • QKayle Q Max.

  • PTAPress the Attack with slow resist shard.

  • DBladeDoran's Blade.

This is a very boring matchup. You basically can never kill NasusNasus in lane nor should he be able to kill you if you go the right runes and summoners.

Against Nasus, start DBladeDoran's Blade and get early priority to shove cannon wave. Afterwards, hold the wave as close to your side until 6.

Once 6, your trading is only Auto > EKayle E and back off for 4 seconds before you can trade again. You need to have your Phase RushPhase Rush ready whenever he withersNasus W you so you can run away.

Phase Rush proc: QKayle Q > Auto > EKayle E.

If he also takes Phase RushPhase Rush and presses witherNasus W on you, you'll still be fine. If he takes GhostGhost and decides to Ghost on top of you as well, you have to GhostGhost as well to trade. He will never be able to catch up to you if you do this.

The only downside is he can wither you under turret and take a few platings for free. On top of that, you can opt to build either Verdant BarrierVerdant Barrier after Nashor's. Upgrade into Banshee'sBanshee's Veil after DnD. The reason I recommend going Banshee's is because it has a much lower cooldown than QSS (90 seconds) than Verdant's (60) and Banshee's (40). You will outscale him in teamfights. In 1v1's it's even late game if you build correctly.

  • Phase RushPhase Rush | Double Adaptive / Slow resist shard.

  • DBladeDoran's Blade.

  • GhostGhost / CleanseCleanse.

  • SwiftyBoots of Swiftness Rush.

  • Can go Rylai'sRylai's Crystal Scepter eventually if you need the extra kiting.

Skill matchup.

1. Can you position well to dodge his QAatrox Q's? Also Q + EAatrox E combo.

2. Can you outrun his WAatrox W tether?

Establish early priority. Start EKayle E. Against Aatrox, you can actually get level 1 prio and shove cannon wave. Just make sure to be able to predict his QAatrox Q's as they do hurt, as well as QAatrox Q + EAatrox E dash combo.

Save your WKayle W in this matchup primarily for when he WAatrox W tethers you. The majority of times, you'll be able to run out of his tether if you save your WKayle W speed up.

Once 6, it becomes a skill matchup with your positioning to dodge his QAatrox Q's and kite him out.

Aatrox

  • DBladeDoran's Blade start.

  • FlashFlash / IgniteIgnite.

  • Standard PTAPress the Attack | AS / MS / 65HP shards. You don't need the slow resist shard for his tether.

  • QKayle Q Max.

  • SwiftyBoots of Swiftness Rush.

Pre-6, gameplan will depend on what rune Zaahen takes.

HoBHail of Blades? You will lose all trades. Just farm/soak XP till 6.

ConquerorConqueror? E start. You can obtain priority level 1 and shove cannon wave.

Dodge his W (pull) and you'll win. Careful for his E (dash) as he'll mask his 2nd Q (knock up) with his dash and catch you off to follow up with his pull. Once 6, just dodge his pull and you can start to bully him.

  • DBladeDoran's Blade start. IF enemy jungler is AD and you think you'll get dove, cloth armorCloth Armor + refillRefillable Potion start.

  • FlashFlash / TPTP.

  • Standard PTAPress the Attack, MS + HP scaling.

  • QKayle Q Max if new. EKayle E Max once more comfortable.

This is a skill matchup pre-11. You dodge his barrels, you win. If you don't dodge his barrels, it'll be hard. Can you time his barrels to auto/E to break them? You win.

GPGangplank's gameplan is to spam his QGangplank Q's on you and force you out of lane. Luckily, it is very short range. Play this similar to Malphite in the early game where you only let him QGangplank Q you for a reason, like for CS or holding wave. GP also likes to put barrels in bushes and connect another on top of you to surprise, so keep in mind when near bushes.

Short trades against GP only pre-6. Once 6, you can actually run him down if he mispositions and doesn't land a barrel. Once level 11, stack your passive and you will auto win. You will auto beat him late game, as long as you don't get barreled in the face out of vision.

  • DShieldDoran's Shield.

  • Standard PTAPress the Attack (Double Adaptive + HP scaling).

  • TPTeleport / FlashFlash.

  • QKayle Q Max.

Contrary to belief, Jax isn't that bad of a matchup from MY personal experience. Yes, his EJax E is the only thing that counters you, but it's only for 2.5 seconds. You'll eventually outscale him and his EJax E won't matter when you can just statcheck him. It's just the laning phase where most people have a problem dealing with him but if you can get through that, it's fine.

This matchup is all about survival and spacing/kiting to an extent.

Level 1, you will lose since he will start EJax E. Start QKayle Q to farm the 3 melees. If he zones you, just start EKayle E and EKayle E him. Afterwards, try and hold the wave on your side for as long as possible to soak 6. When wave is on his side, just soak until it slow pushes back.

Try to space well so he can't QJax Q + EJax E onto you. If you can't, then preemptively QKayle Q before he QJax Q + EJax E onto you so you can kite him out after getting stunned.

If the wave is on your side, he can never jump on to you since he'll take turret damage. That's where you can bully him.

ONLY bully/trade when wave is on YOUR SIDE where you're safe under turret. Otherwise, wait and just soak until wave bounces back to you.

Level 11, becomes skill matchup with how well you space him. Level 16, you will statcheck him the majority of times and win. Just be careful of AP Jax as he has a lot of burst with EJax E. Standard AD Jax you don't have to worry too much about burst.

Jax

  • Standard PTAPress the Attack | Can take bone platingBone Plating/unflinchingUnflinching if you think you'll be camped.

  • FlashFlash / TPTeleport or TPTeleport / ExhaustExhaust (I prefer TP/Exhaust if possible).

  • DBladeDoran's Blade or DShieldDoran's Shield.

  • QKayle Q Max.
