Win the lane early by zoning him off the minion wave and baiting his abilities. The E-flip combo sets up your full damage.
General Strategy
Renekton is the classic lane bully counter matchup, but many players struggle against Urgot. Urgot is one of the strongest champions at level one, capable of zoning Renekton completely. You are susceptible to being countered by items like Warden's Mail and Plated Steelcaps.
Trading Patterns
Urgot's E (Disdain) is the main power ability; if you land E, you guarantee all passive procs. Renekton wants to E-Dash-trade to bait your E; wait for him to start the E cast animation and quickly dice out or use your own E to catch him. Renekton can use his empowered W to stun you and shred your E shield. Stay toward one side of Renekton to prevent him from taking all your shotgun passive procs. You must manage his ultimate; you are less lethal if Renekton is high health when you land R.
Wave Management
Use your Level 1 strength (E) to zone Renekton off the wave to gain an XP and gold lead. You can use your passive shotgun shells to push the minion wave faster.
Their Win Condition
Renekton wins by baiting your E (which is very predictable). He uses items like Eclipse, Black Cleaver, and Sterak's Gage to shred your health and mitigate damage. If you fall behind, you become very useless.
