You need to punish Kennen immediately when he makes a mistake. The most optimal time is if he uses an aggressive W into you.
General Strategy
Kennen is a very poke-heavy and annoying champion. I recommend Doran's Shield and Second Wind. The majority of the difficulty is mental warfare.
Trading Patterns
If Kennen uses an aggressive W towards you, you can flip him with E and 100-to-zero him. Dodge as many Q's as possible. If Kennen stuns you, you can buffer the stun with E and grab him through it. Use Q, Auto, W for short trades. Kennen's R (ultimate) is bufferable, but even if you stun him mid-R, the damage continues to pile on.
Wave Management
Manage the wave outside of your turret.
Their Win Condition
Kennen wins by taking Phase Rush. He utilizes poke and W movement speed to kite you.
