If the Jayce player is sub-Masters, the matchup is completely free. You want to buffer his Hammer Fall knockback with your E.
General Strategy
Jayce requires heavy skill. You should aim to E-Flash-Ignite Jayce out of range at any point in the game. Since he is squishy, if you land your full combo, he will die.
Trading Patterns
When Jayce uses his Hammer Fall (Melee form Q) and E (melee form knockback), he jumps up in the air. You can buffer that knockback with your E and grab him. If Jayce plays at a permanent range and avoids melee combat, that is his favored state.
