General Strategy

If Gangplank is playing for sustain, you should immediately murder him. If he starts playing aggressively with barrels, you need to match that aggression. Rush Essence Reaver.

Trading Patterns

Gangplank's barrels are destroyable by your W (Purge). If he places barrels outside the minion wave or in front of you, turn on your W (which hits three times per second) to win the barrel minigame easily. If he places barrels inside the minion wave, you can use your basic auto attack to play the minigame. If he wastes W (cleansing ability) at any time, you can E-Flash-R-Ignite him for a guaranteed kill.

Gangplank wins by poking you down with Q (Parrrley) after acquiring Essence Reaver. He also wins if he saves W to cleanse your R2 execute.
