Your Win Condition

Your primary goal is to disrupt his Q animations by landing your E. If Aatrox gets ahead early game, the matchup becomes nearly impossible. You must win the aggressive fights early on.

General Strategy

You should be running Ignite, as it is mandatory against Aatrox. Look to rush Black Cleaver into Prowler's Claw and Sterak's Gage. If you are behind, play defensively towards your tower.

Trading Patterns

When Aatrox uses Q1, Q2, or Q3 into you, use E forwards to grab him through the animation. If Aatrox lands Q1 and W (chain) at the same time, his Q2 is guaranteed, and you've probably lost that exchange. W is also bufferable. Look for the E-Flash-Ignite combo around level three or four when he's around 40% to 60% HP. Circle around him when fighting to utilize your passive shotgun legs.

Aatrox wins by getting ahead early game. He also wins if he successfully lands his full Q combo, especially Q1 into W, which guarantees the Q2 hit.
