Your Win Condition

Your core win condition in this lane is simple: stat-checking the little rat with your base damage and Press the Attack proc. Teemo, fundamentally, cannot withstand Renekton's raw damage output. The key to unlocking this damage potential against him revolves entirely around mitigating his Blind (Q). The most crucial step is rushing tenacity, either through early Mercury Treads or ensuring you have the necessary runes. Tenacity allows Teemo's blind to wear off significantly faster, rendering him defenseless against your combo. Beyond the laning phase, your win condition shifts to utilizing your snowball. Once you gain a significant lead, especially by rushing a lethality build (like Ghostblade), you have the raw stats and movement speed to perma kill him and transition that advantage. This allows you to quickly push waves, take towers (since armor penetration applies to structures), and roam to critical global objectives like Baron. Securing the mental damage by making your lane opponent tilt in a matchup they are stereotypically supposed to win is also a form of victory.

General Strategy

To make this matchup easy, you need to start with the right runes and early purchases. D Shield and Second Wind are highly recommended as they give you a lot of health regeneration to mitigate Teemo's consistent poison damage. Itemization must prioritize tenacity, so Mercury Treads are a great early buy, offering both magic resist and tenacity. You may even consider rushing these boots just to match his movement speed, because if he gets boots early, he can space away from you easily. Following boots, an aggressive path involves rushing raw damage and movement speed, such as starting into Ghostblade. This lethality path (Ghostblade/Profane Hydra) is lethal and allows you to one-shot Teemo repeatedly. When building lethality, remember that Dirks is generally the preferred component over Brutalizer first, as the 10 lethality on Dirks costs less and grants better snowballing power. A crucial component of your mid-game strategy is purchasing a Red Trinket (Sweeper). This is vital for detecting Teemo's shrooms, preventing you from accidentally dying by kiting into them during a trade. Clearing shrooms also provides small amounts of gold and helps you keep your Fury up, which is big for securing objectives like Grubs.

Trading Patterns

The key concept in trading against Teemo is proper spacing and patience with your abilities. Spacing: Stay out of Teemo's Auto Attack range. You want to force him to fight in the middle of the lane where you have ample room to run him down and secure the kill. Use psychological tactics, like dipping into the fog of war, to make him walk back and create space. The All-In (Level 2): Your biggest power spike is Level 2. As soon as you hit it, you must posture for an instant all-in. You can use subtle techniques, like slight sidestep faints, to make it look like you are disengaging, then instantly dash in as soon as he steps forward. The W Rule: This is the most important part of the matchup: Never, ever waste your Empowered W on Teemo's blind. If you use W while blinded, the ability resets, and you get no damage off. This is identical to matchups like Jax or Pantheon where an ability negates your W. To succeed, you need to hold your W until the blind wears off. A standard successful trade involves: 1. Dashing onto him (E, maybe off a minion). 2. Using Empowered Q or Autos to chunk him. 3. Acting quickly before he blinds you. If he blinds you, walk away. 4. Once the blind has worn off or you have him below lethal health, execute the final dash and the held Empowered W for the kill. If you hold W, Teemo cannot sustain the damage from your ult or your combo, making the matchup essentially free. Be mindful if he takes Exhaust, as this stifles your kill pressure and requires an extra combo or Flash to finish the job.

Wave Management

In the early game, you want Teemo to push the wave. This provides you with the room you need to execute your Double Dash all-in strategy effectively. If the wave is pulled back close to his side, the early E trade can become too risky due to minion and poison damage. You should prioritize getting the wave to crash back into you after your first base, allowing you to avoid ganks (especially from a threat like Briar) and manage your Fury in the 25 to 35 range while waiting for your next all-in opportunity. Once you start building lethality items, shoving the wave becomes incredibly fast. The armor pen allows you to quickly clear minions, providing a window to get a quick back or look to roam. After securing a kill, it is crucial to shove the wave to deny Teemo experience and gold.

Their Win Condition

Teemo's win conditions rely heavily on denying you the all-in and scaling into a global threat with his mushrooms. Mitigation: If Teemo rushes Plated Steelcaps (Ninja Tabi), he makes it significantly harder for Renekton to kill him by reducing your primary damage source. If he gets boots early, he can use his speed advantage to kite away from you. Maxing Blind: A smart Teemo player will prioritize maxing their Blind (Q). If he isn't maxing blind, you will have a much easier time. Shroom Damage: The worst-case scenario for your team is if Teemo gets strong enough that his shrooms one-shot your teammates. This is when the game becomes exceptionally difficult to end. You must be careful to avoid being kited into his shrooms during a trade, as this can cause you to lose everything. Summoners and Positioning: The use of Exhaust makes trading significantly harder and stifles your kill pressure. Additionally, Teemo players can play deceptively by going AFK under their turret, waiting for you to use an ability on the wave or turret to quickly pop out and trade or kill you.
