Morde wins by extending the fight, as Renekton loses 100% health vs. 100% health duels. Morde should win the 1v1 at Level 6 if both champions have their ultimate.

Victory is solidified upon acquiring Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest, and Riftmaker. Morde should aim to be at high health against Renekton.

Renekton Win Condition

Renekton wins by successfully executing his short-trade pattern (Dashing in, auto, W, Q, and dashing away). He also wins if he forces fights when both champions are around 50% health, as he can burst Morde down before the W shield is effective. Renekton wins if he saves his Empowered W specifically to "completely break" Morde's W shield.

General Strategy

Do not allow Renekton to execute continuous short trades. Morde should rush Bramble Vest, as Renekton'sW strike counts as an auto attack, causing him to take reflect damage and reducing hisQ healing. Morde should attempt to pull Renekton with E in the middle of his combo to extend the fight duration. Itemization must be flexible; Morde might choose to forgo Plated Steelcaps if the enemy team has so much CC that he would be "Omega CC down".

If Renekton saves his Empowered W for a prolonged period, Morde can quickly reactivate his W to convert some shielding into healing, thus gaining some value from the spell before Renekton breaks it.
