Trundle'sR steals your stats, so you must kite him during R. Do not stand near walls; hisE (Pillar) against a wall is a 'death sentence' because the slow guarantees he can reach you. Stridebreaker is highly recommended to ensure you can kite him perpetually; without it, he eventually beats you 1v1. Bramble Vest and Warden's Mail are useful defensive items.

Delay the fight until you have five stacks. If you are in the middle of the lane, you can walk or Ghost out of his Pillar slow.
