Gain an early lead off him and use that lead to pressure the map (invade, roam mid, objectives) before he scales.
General Strategy
Nasus will outscale you. Nasus is useless when his R is on cooldown. Run D Shield and Second Wind to sustain his high-range E poke. Stridebreaker is amazing because it helps you kite him and negates the annoyance of his Wither (W). You must be really, really clean with your kiting when R is up.
Trading Patterns
You must bait his ultimate with short trades and chunks, then fight for the kill when R is down. When he R's, he becomes a 'meat grinder' with massive stats and low Q cooldown. You must use full kiting action (E, W, Q, walk back, re-engage) when R is active. Merc Treads are clutch against smart Nasus players who E max, as they provide MR and tenacity.
Wave Management
Go for short trades, chunk him out, and freeze the wave to bait his ultimate.
Their Win Condition
Scaling indefinitely. Using R to gain massive stats and low Q CD, winning the 1v1. Using E (Spirit Fire) for poke. Using W (Wither) to slow Darius.
