General Strategy
If both players are competent, this is a boring farm lane because his poke is minimal. When fighting mini Gnar, get between him and his turret, let him jump (E), and use Darius E aimed behind yourself to pull him out of the jump and secure the kill. Mini Gnar is 'one-shot bait'. In Mega form, focus on dodging his Q (Rock) and line stun (Q/R). Rush Stridebreaker.
Trading Patterns
Use Ghost to run him down in mini form. If he uses E, he has no escape and is dead. If he is in Mega form, kite him with Ghost.
Wave Management
A good Gnar player will use Mega form R to clear a freeze.

Poking safely with boomerangs and avoiding interaction. Using R to clear freezes or fight aggressively in Mega form.
