Your Win Condition

Catch him when his barrels are down. Kill his barrels before he can detonate them.

General Strategy

If you allow Gangplank to hit you with barrels, 'he will just straight kill you'. Try to hit the barrels before he does. Bait his barrel detonation; when the barrel is down, he is vulnerable for an all-in. Stridebreaker is super, super huge because it counters his passive's movement speed boost that he uses to run away. Legend: Alacrity (attack speed) helps race him to destroy barrels.

Trading Patterns

If you must trade, use Ghost to run up to him while he is positioning near a barrel, pull him, and fight in melee range. You will likely eat the barrel damage, but he will be in range for the all-in. Focus on auto-attacks and W (Decimate) to destroy his barrels quickly in a fight.

Poking Darius down with Q and barrels. Using barrels to crit for massive chunks of health later in the game. Utilizing Passive move speed to escape Darius's range.
