Camille Win Condition

The most effective win condition against Jax is to dodge or ban him outright. The source explicitly calls Jax the "most artistic matchup you will ever face" and suggests banning him for three years, noting that Camille has "no bad matchups left" otherwise. If you insist on playing it, your win condition is being ahead before Jax hits his crucial item spike (like Blade of the Ruined King) and preventing him from landing a successful stun.

Jax Win Condition

Jax wins by leveraging his insane combat power, especially after Level 6. If he gets ahead of you, you cannot play the game and he will "brute force you down". His goal is to successfully use Counter Strike (E) to block your key abilities, particularly the grapple portion of your Hookshot (E). He also wins if you decide to rush Tiamat, as he can then easily freeze the wave and subsequently outscale you.

General Strategy

You should start W every time, as starting E or Q allows Jax's Counter Strike (E) to "destroy all your level 1 cheese's". The key trick to surviving is timing your Hookshot (E) precisely. If Jax leaps on you, you must instantly use E and work out of the stun; if you hesitate, he can cancel your Hookshot. You should rush Triforce and avoid Tiamat, focusing on standard Camille itemization rather than building specifically against Jax.

Trading Patterns

Start W and use it to clear the first three creeps and poke him. Do not walk up for your passive shield if Jax has Counter Strike available, as he will parry your attack and you won't gain the shield. When Jax charges Counter Strike and leaps toward you, you must immediately hug the wall and use E.

Crucially, Jax can cancel your Hookshot only during the second part of the ability—when you are "actually steps in to grapple towards the wall". If you land a short E, you can follow up with W and a Q, but immediately walk away as Jax will disengage and you cannot chase him effectively.

Wave Management

Do not build Tiamat. Jax will be able to freeze the lane easily if you build Tiamat, allowing him to quickly outscale you. Focus on getting Doran's Blade first, then opting into a standard Triforce rush.
