Aurora Win Condition

Your victory hinges on out-temoing Lux and exploiting her low durability in the early game and post-six. If you have the ideal setup (Comet), your goal is to utilize long-range Aurora EE poke as your primary tool in the later laning phase. A key tactical advantage is achieved through itemization: buying Symbiotic Souls to gain immense tempo through fast, empowered recalls, allowing you to be at critical map objectives (like Grubs) with a massive item and mana advantage. Ultimately, post-six, your win condition is to all-in and kill Lux once she is within lethal range, especially after she misses a key ability.

Lux Win Condition

Lux wins by successfully surviving the early phase where Aurora is potent. Once Lux acquires a few levels, her win condition relies on her severe out-range advantage, forcing Aurora to approach cautiously. She wins trades by consistently landing herLux EE (Lucent Singularity) and Lux QQ (Light Binding), using these abilities to punish Aurora for stepping up or forcing her out of the lane.

General Strategy

The ideal setup for this matchup is Comet plus Domination for reliable long-range Aurora EE poke. Early in the lane, secure control of the first bush. Since Lux is squishy at Level 1, if her identity as Top Laner is confirmed, you should look to initiate an aggressive trade.

You must purchase early boots because Lux, like Aurora, relies heavily on skill shots, and movement speed is crucial for dodging. As the game progresses, you must be extremely careful when stepping up due to Lux's range. Always anticipate herLux EE and look to dodge it.

If you are pushed in, you can posture behind Lux's minions to safely zone her off of experience and poke her for free, especially if you have a level advantage. A unique and highly advantageous strategy is the purchase of Symbiotic Souls. These boots are cheap and provide an immense tempo boost through a 4-second recall time, which allows you to efficiently reset and maintain priority, effectively negating bad lane states.

Trading Patterns

Trading should start aggressively at Level 1 by throwing yourAurora QQ, and if successful, extend the auto-attack trades as Aurora's passive sustain helps. If Lux disrespects your damage at low levels, you can look for the ultimate skill check around Level 3: a swift Q-Flash-Aurora EE combo to secure a kill or force her Flash. During the later laning phase, if you anticipate that you will inevitably be hit by herLux EE, try to trade HP back onto her during that time, as Aurora benefits from even trades post-six due to her all-in potential.

Post-six, if Lux misses her abilities, or if you can confidently put her into lethal range, you should look to all-in with your ultimate. Furthermore, actively use your movement to bait out herLux EE; if she throws it, you can attempt to dodge it with yourAurora WW (Flicker).

Wave Management

Aurora should aim to gain priority after a good early trade. Due to the increased squishiness of minions in the current season, if you recall, you are essentially forced to Teleport back to avoid losing excessive experience and gold. Ideally, in the mid-to-late laning phase, you should always aim to keep the wave on your side.

If Lux shoves the wave into your tower, utilizing the tempo advantage from Symbiotic Souls allows you to shove the wave out quickly and execute the empowered 4-second recall, timing it with your Teleport to return immediately. This maneuver can grant you a two-wave tempo advantage over Lux.
